Ingredients you'll need
- matcha: sifted; use a high-quality matcha for the best flavor and color
- hot water: about 80°C / 176°F
- whole milk: or non-dairy alternative
- sweetener of your choice: eg. simple syrup, honey, or granulated sugar
- vanilla extract
- ice cubes
- strawberry cold foam cream: for topping

How to make iced matcha frappe with strawberry cold foam
Prepare matcha:
Sift matcha powder into a small bowl.
Add hot water and whisk until thick, frothy and smooth.
Blend:
In a blender, combine milk, matcha, sweetener, vanilla extract, and ice cubes.
Blend until smooth.
Pour the blended matcha frappe into a tall glass.
Pour or spoon the strawberry foam cream over the top.
Serve immediately with a straw.


Variations
Swap out the strawberry cold foam for vanilla cold foam, lavender cold foam, or sakura cherry blossom cold foam.
Invert the drink and make a strawberry frappe, with matcha cold foam.
Expert tips
Strawberry purée: blend a few fresh or thawed frozen strawberries with a touch of sugar or use strawberry syrup/sauce for extra convenience.
Make it dairy-free: use coconut cream for the cold foam and oat, soy, or almond milk for the frappe.
No electric frother? use a handheld whisk or jar with a tight lid to shake the cold foam until thick.

- 1½ teaspoon matcha sifted
- 1 tablespoon hot water about 80°C / 176°F
- ¾ cup milk or non-dairy alternative
- 1-2 teaspoon sweetener of your choice eg. simple syrup, honey, or sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 C ice cubes
- strawberry cold foam cream as desired
Instructions
