This easy recipe for Starbucks Passion Tea Lemonade is a bright, tangy refreshing iced tea lemonade with a natural beautiful hue.

    What is Tazo passion tea?

Passion tea (also known as passion tango tea) is a caffeine-free herbal tea blend of hibiscus flowers, orange peel, rose hips, cinnamon, mango, lemongrass and passion fruit flavor.

There are two types of Tazo passion tea available:

    • tea bags which are unsweetened
    • boxed concentrate which already contains the passion hibiscus tea pre-mixed with sweetener/sugar

What is a passion tea lemonade?

Passion tea lemonade (also known as passion tango tea lemonade) is a magenta-hued drink from Starbucks consisting of Tazo Passion Tea mixed with lemonade.

It's usually served iced and lightly sweetened with liquid cane sugar or simple syrup.

    Why you'll love this recipe

Easy to make: this copycat Starbucks Passion Tea Lemonade recipe is super easy to whip up!

Minimal ingredients: it's only a matter of shaking the passion tea and lemonade together.

Economical and customizable: it costs way less to make it at home and you can easily change up the ratios.

Convenient: using the passion tea concentrate saves you from having to brew the tea and sweeten it.

    Ingredients you'll need

    For this recipe, you'll need:

    • Tazo passion tea concentrate: it comes packaged in a carton; I usually get it in a 3-pack from Costco -- it's super convenient and already has sweetener added to it
    • lemonade: is a drink consisting of lemon juice, water and sweetener; you can make your own lemonade using fresh lemons, water and sugar, or use store-bought
    • ice cubes

Ingredients for making iced passion tango tea lemonade.

If you can't find passion tea concentrate:

Use Tazo Passion tea bags and brew the passion tea:

Bring 2 cups of water up to a boil.

In a heat-safe vessel, add 2 Tazo passion tea bags and pour 2 C hot water.

Let it steep for 5 minutes.

Let it cool and place into the fridge to chill completely.

Note 1: You can remove the tea bags after 5 minutes, or leave them to steep longer.

Note 2: the Tazo Passion tea bags are not sweetened, so you will need to add a little sweetener to your taste. If using simple syrup or a liquid sweetener, you can add that when assembling the drink. If not, you can add 1-2 tablespoon of granulated sugar to the hot tea and stir until dissolved before chilling.

    How to make it

In a tall shaker with a lid or mason jar with secure lid, add in ice cubes, 1 C (8 oz) chilled passion tea concentrate and ¼ C (2 oz) lemonade.

Secure the lid onto the jar and give it a good shake.

Pour the shaken passion tea lemonade with the ice into a tall glass, give it a stir with a straw and enjoy.

    Variations

You can add sweetener such as simple syrup, maple syrup, honey, or agave to your taste.

Instead of lemonade, try adding yuzu, sparkling/carbonated water, or fruit juice such as apple juice or raspberry juice.

You can use your own homemade lemonade if you have fresh lemons on hand.

If you don't have fresh lemons on hand, make you own quick lemonade using bottled lemon juice -- mix 1.5 tablespoon lemon juice with 1 tablespoon sugar and ¼ C hot water. Stir in ¼ C cold water.

    Notes

The standard Starbucks ratio for a Grande Passion Tea Lemonade is 8 oz passion tea with 2 oz lemonade and 4 pumps of liquid cane sugar/simple syrup.

You can change the ratio according to your taste: add more lemonade for a more tangier drink, or add more sweetener if you prefer a sweeter drink.

What an easy way to replicate a popular drink! The flavors here are perfect for summer, too. We just got into Tazo's concentrates to make dirty chais at home. They taste just like the ones from the coffee shop...at a fraction of the price!
