How to make matcha oats
In a jar or container, add oats, chia seeds, flaxseed, maple syrup (if using), matcha powder and vanilla extract (if using).
Pour in the milk and stir well to combine.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight, until thickened.
In the morning, give it a good stir. Add more milk if you prefer a thinner texture.
Top with fruit or toppings of your choice and enjoy cold.

What to pair with?
Pair the matcha overnight oats with a warm matcha latte, matcha jasmine tea or matcha espresso fusion.
How to store
Keep the matcha oats covered in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Variations
Omit the matcha powder if you're not a fan of it, or try swapping in roasted hojicha powder instead.
If you don't like chia or flax seeds, you can omit.
Expert tips
Texture: use less milk for thicker oats, or more for a looser consistency.
Make it creamier: stir in a spoonful of Greek yogurt or coconut yogurt before serving.
Take it to go: store in small lidded jars or containers for a portable breakfast.
Make it ahead: prep it ahead of time and have it ready for the work week.
Scale it: up or down, depending on how many servings you'd like to make.
