Passionfruit is a small, tropical round-oval fruit with pulpy and juicy interior, with black oval seeds that are crunchy and edible.
The color of passionfruit can range from yellow, green, red to purple.
What does passionfruit taste like?
Passionfruit has a tart, sweet tangy flavor, with a strong floral, citrus fragrance.
It pairs well with mango, guava, pineapple, coconut and other tropical fruits.
Why you'll love this recipe
This recipe for Passionfruit Yogurt Popsicles is:
Easy to make: mix the ingredients, freeze and you've got popsicles!
Delicious: the flavors of tangy Greek yogurt with the sweetness and tartness of the passionfruit puree complement each other.
Minimal in ingredients: with only a few ingredients, you can be assured that these popsicles are much more healthier than store-bought.
Ingredients you'll need
- thick Greek yogurt: use one that you enjoy eating
- heavy whipping cream: with at least 36% milkfat
- passionfruit puree: I used one that is already sweetened with honey; if using fresh passionfruit pulp, you may need to adjust the sweetness level to your taste by adding sugar or sweetener
Where to find?
You can find these ingredients at grocery stores. I used a passionfruit puree from Costco.

How to make the popsicles
Add thick Greek yogurt to a large mixing bowl. Set aside.
In a separate bowl, whisk heavy whipping cream until firm peaks.
Fold the whipped cream (in thirds) into the Greek yogurt to lighten, until all incorporated.
Pour in the passionfruit puree and fold a few times, just until streaky.
Transfer the mixture into a large pastry bag and snip off the tip.
Pipe the mixture into the popsicle molds.
Give the molds a few taps to release any trapped air bubbles.
Place the lid on the mold and add in the popsicle sticks.
Freeze popsicles for at least 6 hours, or until frozen firm.

How to serve
Serve the passionfruit popsicles as an anytime snack, or light dessert.
How to store
Keep the popsicles in the freezer until ready to serve.
Store the popsicles in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 1 month.
Expert tips
Use silicone popsicle molds for best results.
To help release the popsicles, run the exterior of the mold with a little warm water.
If you prefer it sweeter, add a little more sweetener such as sugar or honey.
Feeling fancy? Add a passionfruit white chocolate or yuzu chocolate coating over the popsicles.

My husband loves passionfruit and picked some up recently. And the girls were asking for popsicles, so I whipped up a batch. They are currently in the freezer, but we all agreed the taste off the spoon means they are going to be delish!
