Why you'll love this recipe
This recipe for Jalapeno Honey Cream Cheese is:
Inspired by the Tillamook Creamery version that I tried and enjoyed very much.
Full of flavor: using fresh jalapenos and dried aromatics adds so much intensity and flavor to the otherwise bland cream cheese.
Adaptable: swap out the jalapeno and honey for a different flavor. Try chives, or take it in a sweet direction and add freeze-dried strawberries.
Ingredients you'll need
- cream cheese: full fat, slightly softened room temperature
- fresh jalapenos: diced; adjust to your taste -- if you like it spicy, add more, if not, add less
- honey: adds a touch of sweetness to balance the spiciness from the jalapenos; you can swap out with granulated sugar
- sea salt
- onion powder
- garlic powder
- jalapeno powder: which is simply dehydrated jalapenos, ground into a powder; or habanero powder; again, adjust to your taste
How to make
In a stand mixer bowl fitted with paddle attachment, add the cream cheese, jalapenos, honey, salt, onion powder, garlic powder and jalapeno powder (or habanero powder).
Starting on low speed and gradually increasing, cream the cream cheese mixture until lightened and fluffy.
Taste and adjust seasoning to your preference.
Transfer the mixture to a clean, airtight container and place into the fridge until ready to use.
Spread on bagels, toast, or crackers.

How to serve
Spread the jalapeno cream cheese on toasted bread, sourdough, cheddar biscuits, bagels, or crackers.
It would pair deliciously on a smoked salmon bagel.
How to store
Store the homemade cream cheese spread in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

This is my kind of spread! And that's a smart idea to combine jalapenos with honey for a balanced, smooth flavour.

Thanks Ben! The jalapenos and honey work together so well! 🙂
