- Earl Grey tea bag: or loose-leaf; use a double-bergamot Earl Grey for more intense flavor
- hot water: about 190°F / 88°C
- milk: dairy or non-dairy
- matcha: sifted; use a high-quality matcha powder for the best flavor and color
- hot water
- Earl Grey syrup: or other sweetener
- ice (if serving iced)

How to make Earl Grey Matcha Latte
Prepare the Earl Grey:
Brew the Earl Grey tea bag in ¼ C hot water for 3-5 minutes.
Remove the tea bag/discard tea leaves and let cool slightly.
Prepare the matcha:
Sift matcha into a small bowl.
Add 2 tablespoon hot water and whisk vigorously in a zigzag motion until frothy and smooth, or use an electric frother.
Assemble:
For iced latte:
Add ice to a tall glass. Pour in the Earl Grey tea.
Add in Earl Grey syrup, or sweetener (if using).
Gently pour in the milk to create a gradient.
Top with the matcha layer.

For hot latte:
Heat the milk until warm and frothy.
Pour brewed Earl Grey into a mug. Add Earl Grey syrup (or sweetener).
Stir in warm milk, then top with whisked matcha.

Use a high quality matcha for vibrant color and flavor.
Steep the Earl Grey a little stronger than you'd typically make it so its floral notes shine through.
