Mee Goreng (Malaysian Stir-Fried Noodles)

A homemade, flavor-packed Mee Goreng you can whip up in under 30 minutes with a savory-spicy twist from my Miso Chili Oil.

Ingredients

Garnish:

  • fried shallot/garlic/onion
  • fried egg
  • green onion
  • Thai red chili

Instructions

Cook the noodles:

  • Bring a pot of water up to a boil.
  • Add the noodles and cook according to the package instructions.
  • Drain the noodles in a colander and rinse under cold water. Drain well.

Assemble:

  • To the pot, over medium heat, add in pork lard, chili oil, sweet soy sauce, light soy sauce and the well-drained noodles.
  • Stir fry the noodles until evenly coated in the sauce.
  • Transfer to a plate and garnish with the fried shallot, fried egg, green onion, and Thai red chili.
  • Serve immediately.
