Preheat oven to 425°F/218°C.
In a bowl, combine the ground pork, egg, fish sauce, soy sauce, salt, sugar, garlic, ginger, green onions, cilantro (if using) and panko breadcrumbs.
Give everything a good mix.
Take a portion of the meat mixture and form it into a round meatball.
Place the meatball onto a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Repeat with the remainder of the pork mixture.
Bake the meatballs at 425°F/218°C for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches a minimum of 160°F/71°C.
Remove the pork meatballs from the oven.
Add a squeeze of fresh lime juice (optional) and serve with steamed rice as is or with Thai sweet chili sauce (either drizzled over the meatballs, or as a dipping sauce).
