Ingredients

  • 1 ½ teaspoon matcha sifted
  • 2 tablespoon hot water
  • 1 C milk or non-dairy alternative
  • 40 g white chocolate chopped, or white chocolate chips
  • pinch sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Prepare matcha:

  • Sift matcha powder into a small bowl or jar.
  • Pour in hot water and whisk using a bamboo chasen or electric frother until frothy and smooth. Set aside.

Warm the milk:

  • In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium-low heat, just until steaming (but not boiling).
  • Add the chopped white chocolate and stir until melted and smooth.
  • Add in a pinch of salt and vanilla extract and give it a stir.

Combine:

  • Pour the whisked matcha into the warmed white chocolate milk and stir to combine.
  • Pour the matcha hot chocolate into a mug.
  • Add your favorite toppings, such as whipped cream, marshmallows, or enjoy as is.
