Matcha Lychee Soda

This Matcha Lychee Soda is a vibrant, refreshing sparkling drink layered with floral lychee, earthy matcha, and fizzy carbonated water. It's cool and energizing with a hint of sweetness.

Ingredients

  • ½ teaspoon matcha sifted
  • 2 tablespoon hot water about 80°C/176°F
  • ice
  • 1-2 tablespoon lychee syrup to your taste
  • ¾ C sparkling water chilled
  • OR
  • ¾ C lychee soda chilled [you can omit the lychee syrup if you like]

Instructions

Prepare the matcha:

  • In a small bowl, whisk matcha with hot water until smooth and frothy.

Assemble:

  • To a tall glass, add ice cubes, lychee syrup and pour chilled sparkling water over the ice, leaving a bit of space at the top.  [OR add ice cubes, and pour lychee soda over top].
  • Slowly pour the whisked matcha over the back of a spoon to float it on top of the soda.
  • Top with an extra lychee on a skewer.
  • Stir gently before serving.
