Ingredients

  • 1 jasmine tea bag or 1 tablespoon loose-leaf jasmine tea
  • ½ C hot water 85°C / 185°F
  • OR ½ C cold brew jasmine tea
  • 1 teaspoon matcha sifted
  • ¼ C hot water 80°C / 175°F
  • 1-2 teaspoon jasmine syrup or simple syrup (or other sweetener such as honey), to your taste
  • ice cubes

Instructions

Prepare jasmine tea:

  • Steep the jasmine tea bag in ½ C hot water for 3-5 minutes. Remove the tea bag and let the tea cool to room temperature (or chill in the fridge).
  • Alternatively, you can make a cold brew jasmine tea the night before.

Prepare matcha:

  • Sift the matcha powder into a bowl.
  • Add ¼ C hot water and whisk with a bamboo chasen or handheld frother until smooth and frothy.

Assemble:

  • Fill a tall glass with ice.
  • Pour in the cooled jasmine tea.
  • Gently pour the whisked matcha on top to create a layered look.
  • Add jasmine syrup (or sweetener) to taste, if desired.
  • Stir before sipping.
