Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon matcha sifted
  • 2 tablespoon hot water about 175°F / 80°C
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar to your taste
  • ice cubes optional
  • ½ C soda water or carbonated water
  • 1 scoop vanilla ice cream or matcha ice cream

Instructions

Prepare the matcha:

  • In a small bowl, sift the matcha powder.
  • Add hot water and whisk until frothy and smooth.
  • Stir in sugar to taste. Let cool slightly.

Assemble:

  • Add a few ice cubes to a tall glass (if using).
  • Gently pour the cooled matcha mixture into the glass.
  • Pour in the soda water.
  • Add a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
  • Serve immediately with a long spoon and straw.
