Ingredients

  • 1 jasmine tea bag or 1 tablespoon loose-leaf jasmine tea
  • ½ C hot water about 85°C / 185°F
  • OR jasmine cold brew tea
  • 1 teaspoon matcha sifted
  • ¼ C hot water about 80°C / 175°F
  • 1 teaspoon jasmine syrup optional (or other sweetener)
  • ½ C milk of your choice
  • ice cubes

Instructions

  • Steep the jasmine tea bag in ½ cup hot water (about 85°C / 185°F) for 3-5 minutes. Remove the tea bag and let the tea cool to room temperature. [Or use a cold brew jasmine tea].
  • Sift the matcha into a small bowl.
  • Add ¼ cup hot water (80°C / 175°F) and whisk using a bamboo chasen or electric frother until smooth and frothy.
  • Fill a tall glass with ice.
  • Pour in jasmine syrup, cooled jasmine tea, followed by the milk.
  • Slowly pour the whisked matcha on top for a layered effect.
  • Enjoy as is, or stir to combine before sipping.
