Black sesame frangipane: 30 g unsalted butter 40 g granulated sugar 24 g almond flour 32 g black sesame powder 1 large egg 6 g all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 teaspoon almond extract ¼ teaspoon sea salt Garnish: 4 teaspoon flaked almonds 2 teaspoon powdered sugar
Black sesame frangipane: In a bowl, combine butter and sugar with a fork.
Mix in almond flour, black sesame powder, egg and flour.
Stir in vanilla extract, almond extract and salt.
Assemble: Lightly brush simple syrup onto each slice of bread.
Divide the frangipane mixture evenly onto the slices of bread.
Top with flaked almonds.
Bake at 375°F/191°C for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly golden in color.
Remove from oven and let cool on the baking tray for 5 minutes.
Dust with powdered sugar and serve.
