Asian Fried Eggs (Sesame Crusted)

This simple recipe for Asian Fried Eggs features sunny-side eggs fried with a crunchy sesame crusted base topped with a drizzle of chili oil.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoon sesame seeds white or black, or combination
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • chili oil optional
  • salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Heat a frying pan over low-medium heat.
  • Toss in sesame seeds and toast for about 30 seconds.
  • Add vegetable oil over the sesame seeds.
  • Crack eggs over the sesame seeds and cover the pan with the lid slightly ajar.
  • Let the eggs cook until desired doneness, about 4-5 minutes.
  • Use a spatula to gently release the egg.
  • Serve with additional sesame seeds and/or chili oil, and salt & pepper to taste.
