Ingredients

Taro layer:

Matcha layer:

  • 2 teaspoon ceremonial or high-quality matcha powder
  • 60 ml hot water about 175°F/80°C
  • ice cubes for serving

Instructions

Prepare the taro milk:

  • In a blender, combine cooked, mashed taro, milk of choice, sweetener (if using), and vanilla extract.
  • Blend until smooth and creamy.

Prepare the matcha:

  • Sift matcha powder into a small bowl.
  • Add in the hot water and whisk vigorously using a bamboo whisk or milk frother until smooth and frothy.

Assemble:

  • Fill a serving glass with ice.
  • Pour the blended taro milk into the glass.
  • Slowly pour the hot matcha over top.
  • Serve immediately and stir before drinking.
