The sun’s been out for most of July in Vancouver (yay!), which means I’ve been wearing lots of short-sleeved tops and dresses and skirts. But what this really means is that I’ve been taking more yoga classes and being barefoot.
Now I don’t know about you, but I cringe when I see feet that are calloused and flaky — ugh, yuck! Luckily for me, Modern Hippie sent some Exfoliating Sugar Scrub, made with all-natural sugar (rather than those plastic microbeads) and a blend of essential oils… plus the grapefruit scent smells amazing! I’m a low-maintenance gal when it comes to makeup and beauty products. Wash face with soap, put on some BB cream, and that’s about it. I don’t even put moisturizer on my face since I have acne-prone, sensitive, oily skin.
Now that I’m getting older, I do wonder if I should be using more products on my face to retain that youthfulness. (more…)
For all of my life, I’ve had pretty bad eczema. Eczema is atomic dermatitis — it’s an inflammation of the skin that can cause dryness, itchiness and rashes. There is no cure for it. My mom told me that when I was a newborn, I had it all over my cheeks.
As a kid, I didn’t realize I had it until I was about 9 or 10 years old and I had severe itching and rashes in the inner crease of my elbows as well as behind my knees. My family doctor referred me to a dermatologist and I was finally diagnosed with eczema. (more…)
